Timing is everything when it comes to real estate. You need the right timing in nearly every aspect: listing dates, offer dates, even open house scheduling. Each detail can have a big impact on the success of the purchase or sale of a home. This week’s #winnerscircle is centered around timing. But the story began a long time ago, back in 2013 when we first met the Grover family. They were interested in relocating from sunny California to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our relationship was born as we helped them find a rental that suited each of their needs. Then, in 2014, we were able to negotiate the purchase of their first PNW home. That’s not where the story ends, though. Although years passed, we still kept in touch and were able to celebrate life’s big moments, like the expansion of their family, with them. That’s why we were so excited when they approached us in 2018 to negotiate simultaneous selling and buying with our office. They had their sights set on a newly constructed home, but had to wait for its completion. Every other aspect of their sale and purchase depended on it. We’re big believers in not leaving our clients homeless. That’s why when their dream house was nearly completed, Grace, our team lead, expertly negotiated a longer close and rent back on the sale, so they would be able to live rent free for over a month, and wouldn’t have to move multiple times before getting to their forever home. Their purchase closed this past Thursday, and we’re excited to see their lives develop with this happy step forward. We’ve found that many people share the same aspiration of simultaneously selling and buying as the Grovers did, but are fearful of the potential outcomes of poor timing, such as finding temporary living and the expenses of multiple moves.
